Rick and Morty Season 5 Updates: The latest trailer of the Season 5 of Rick and Morty showed a potential love interest for Summer, rather than focusing on the main character. The series started in 2013in an anarchic animated comedy that went from a goofy, ribald Back to the Future spoof to a pop culture realm, thanks to the dissemblance of sci-fi and sitcom tropes. Mocking everything from Jurassic Park to The Game of Thrones in the first four seasons, the show has gained huge popularity with an enormous fanbase, thanks to its humor and innovative formula.
However, the season 5 trailer for Rick and Morty made it certain that there’s something more than this formula in the event, as it increased its focus on the characters in the supporting role, for example, Summer, and its trailer also proved that with addition to this new trend, it will also throw light on the potential love interest of her.
Rick and Morty Season 5 New Love Interest
It’s a definite move, that Summer would have more of the screen role in season 5. In the past, we have already seen the love interests of both the lead characters of the show, but now it seems like the spotlight will be given to Summer.
Fans already knew that that season 5 would show Morty to have a non-Jessica love interest too, while the past animatic teaser and the current trailer had confirmed that his long-time requited crush can also get more of the screen time. Summer’s increased spotlight can be a start to the show giving equal importance to the supporting character as that of the main character, something that fans have been hoping for a long time back.
More recently, the show had also made arrangements to increase the potential of the Smith family members by plotting a poignant for Beth at the end of Season 4. But it was one amongst the Season 4’s episodes “Promortryus” that confirmed that Sumer might be a part of the main lead pair’s tweaking adventures without having to change the formula much, and the addition of this new idea of Summer’s potential love interest could lead towards more of such adventures in the future.
The show has already established Summer as a solid player, so let’s hope that her Season 5 love interest confirms that the character will work in a more expanded role.
