Mission: Impossible 7 Updates: Vanessa Kirby’s White Widow character is back in Mission: Impossible 7, according to a new set picture. Kirby made her first appearance in the sixth installment of the franchise, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, in 2018 as Alanna Mitsopolis, also known as the White Widow professionally.

Alanna Mitsopolis (Frederick Schmidt) is the younger sister of Fallout adversary Zola Mitsopolis (Vanessa Redgrave) and the daughter of enigmatic weapons dealer Max (Vanessa Redgrave). She secretly assists Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and the IMF in the capturing of Solomon Lane (Sean Harris).

Kirby rose to fame after appearing in action films like Mission: Impossible – Fallout and Hobbs & Shaw, for which she received an Emmy nomination for her Emmy-nominated role as Princess Margaret in seasons 1 and 2 of The Crown.

Kirby, on the other hand, got an Oscar nomination on Monday for the poignant and dramatic drama Pieces of a Woman. Kirby is up for Best Leading Actress alongside Viola Davis, Andra Day, Frances McDormand, and Carey Mulligan in a star-studded field.

Kirby has previously stated that she will reprise her appearance as White Widow in Mission: Impossible 7 and 8. The White Widow set picture seems to have sepia color grading, which gives the pictures a warm brownish hue and a more traditional Hollywood appearance, comparable to McQuarrie’s previous Instagram photos.

Though plot specifics for the movie are scarce, White Widow is supposed to return to assist Ethan Hunt and the IMF in completing a mission that looks unlikely to be completed.

Given Alanna’s troubled history, the movie has the potential to fill out her story of the past, as well as potentially bring back some past Mission: Impossible characters from stories including her mother, Max, who died in the first movie. Mission: Impossible 7 is set to hit theatres on November 19, 2021, after several delays.
