Haikyuu Updates: Even those who have just recently become anime fans will identify “Haikyuu” despite having never seen a single episode of the show. This is thanks to the enormous success of this sports anime, which also has several seasons.
Fans loved seeing their favorite players win (and lose) on the volleyball courts, but it was the show’s characters that stole the show. Of course, some characters are more well-known than others, and for good cause. So, which characters were the most popular among MyAnimeList users?

- Kenma Kozume (9,349 Favorites) –
Kenma, with his cool and relaxed demeanor, was one of his team’s most insightful players. He was often seen keeping his composure, apart from occasional occasions, such as when he played video games and genuinely loved them.
Kenma sometimes referred to as the “heart” of his squad, despised being the center of focus, which is why he hardly expressed his opinions publicly.
- Tooru Oikawa (10,683 Favorites)
For the Inter-High and Spring High Preliminary arcs of Haikyuu, Oikawa was cast as the main antagonist. For his good looks, charisma, and flirtatious disposition, he was seen to be famous with female students.
Given his carefree disposition, he was a serious volleyball player. His ability to evaluate his rivals’ strengths and deficiencies made him an invaluable member of his squad.
- Yuu Nishinoya (11,498 Favorites)
Nishinoya, nicknamed “Karasuno’s Guardian God” by his teammates, was a fun and boisterous young man. His outlandish behavior always put him in hot water, but he never let it bother him.
He is seen to be a kind and considerate friend, which contrasts with his frequent aggressive outbursts of rage.

Kageyama was not particularly popular with his classmates or teammates at the start of the display due to his short temper and stubborn attitude.
The King of the Court’s personality gradually changed since joining Karasuno, with the biggest improvement being his desire to transcend his natural tendency to micromanage all that happened on the volleyball court.

Hinata’s vibrant and joyful attitude warmed even Kageyama’s, ice-cold heart. Hinata is seen to be a remarkably observant young boy, despite making some excessively naive choices.
Although he initially performs poorly under tension, he eventually progresses, being able to drive himself to the point where he can withstand unimaginable levels of pressure, both on and off the court.
