Peaky Blinders arrived at its sensational peak in September a year ago as all that kept on going from awful to more terrible for Tommy Shelby (played by Cillian Murphy).

The BBC One show should approach the end of shooting season six at this point. However, because of the pandemic, the cast and group don’t have any other option but to stay away from the set.

This only implies there will be a significant delay in the release of the newer episodes.

Addressing Digital Spy, Anthony Byrne, the director, opened up about the show’s shooting plan and when fans are probably going to see its return.

He stated that if things go alright, they can start preparing again towards the end of 2020 and begin shooting ahead of schedule one year from now i.e 2021. However, its doubtful weather this is possible or not.

Byrne continued saying that earlier plans were to begin the shotting by the end of March 2020 and finish it by July ends.

On the off chance they began shooting in January, they still wouldn’t have been able to complete until May/June. Plus there an additional half-year of editing.

In conclusion, this could mean Peaky Blinders may not be back until late 2021 or even mid-2022.

Will there be a season 7?

Even with the derailment of the production schedule for season 6, the creators of Peaky Blinders have got their eyes set on the future of the show.

Opening up to Entertainment Weekly in October 2019, Steven Knight, the creator, affirmed that he intends to carry on the show till the seventh season. So yes, there will be a season 7.

He said that this new season will commence another war. This means we’ll hear the sirens of World War II and the implications of the war on the gang and England at large.
