The film had such a great potential that it managed to pull off over $ 1 billion at the box office. The production of Sherlock Holmes 3 was stuck for several years now the film is set to debut in 2021 with Jude Law as John Watson alongside Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes.

Downey Jr. stated in a conversation at Fast Company’s Innovation Festival that, he wants to expand the Show franchise as evocative as MCU. He is not the first one to try and emulate the success of MCU.

Downey Jr. said, “At this point, we really feel that there is not a mystery-verse built out anywhere, and Conan Doyle is the definitive voice in that arena, I think to this day. So to me, why do a third movie if you are not going to be able to spin off into some real gems of diversity and other times and elements?”

Some Marvel fans are still hoping for Tony Stark’s return in future films, but the actor has made it very clear that he has stepped back from MCU. We hope that Robert Downey Jr. finds another great world in the Sherlock Holmes franchise. He is trying hard to expand the franchise. It will take time for him to develop the whole universe, but we wish him luck to build a greater world for Sherlock Holmes.
