Season 1 first broadcasted in 2019 on Netflix. It acts as a sequel to “The Dark Crystal,” which was released in 1982. However, the 40-year gap is managed entirely in the newest installment. With its near to perfect storyline, the show has annexed hearts all over the globe.

No updates regarding the release date are out yet. Season 1 launched in 2019, nearly two years after its announcement. However, we don’t expect such a long delay for season 2. Moreover, the coronavirus pandemic has caught the world in its grip. The virus has now captured the whole world in its grip and is showing no signs of relinquishing control. The Cast of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Season 2
The cast will, in all likelihood, remain the same as the previous season. Taron Egerton will voice for Rian while Anya Taylor-Joy will voice for Brea. Also, Nathalie Emmanuel will be expressing for Deet. Donna Kimball and Jason Isaacs will also reprise their roles. They give voice to Aughra and The Skeksis Emperor, respectively. There may not be any new additions.
The Storyline:
The story revolves around the fictional planet of Thar. It narrates the life of the people who live here and the struggles that they face. Two racist communities reside here, The Skeksis and The Gelflings. The Skeksis are an alien race dependent on the planet, Thar for survival. They are not at all friendly and exploit The Gelflings to the best of their ability. Rian, the protagonist, is the guardian of the mysterious Crystal Castle. His girlfriend, Mira, was executed by the aliens. Due to this, Rian becomes a rebel and, along with his friends, team up against the Skeksis. Deet, Brea help him to build resistance against the evil Skeksis.
The Plot:
Season 2 will be fascinating and mysterious as compared to its predecessor. Rian, Brea, and Deet are going to be at the forefront of the narration. Moreover, the trio will try to recover the corrupted and evil “Truth Crystal.” We also know that the creators are planning to introduce a whole new spectrum of civilization. However, we do have to wait for the upcoming season to find out more.
