Shogun premiered on FX earlier this year on February 27, it has ten episodes and the finale was last month which ended with a very emotional note.

The humongous success of the first installment made it pretty much evident that the second season would come anytime soon, but this early wasn’t expected. As soon as the details about the new deal went viral on social media, fans have become really excited.

When the show reached its final episode last month that too with the novel being incomplete, there was plenty of room for a new storyline to transpire, and we will surely see some amazing seasons coming up.

Besides that, the creators of the show are also aiming for the Emmy Awards. However, there is a dilemma whether to submit Shogun as a drama series or in the limited category, the latter one has some really incredible shows already hence the competition is quite tough.

As the voting begins the next months, creators of Shogun have remained silent and have abstained from announcing the second season, as they would probably submit Shogun as a limited series.
