Seventy years after its distinctive premiere in 1953, The Wages of Fear, a legendary French thriller, returns to the cinema in its latest adaptation.
This remake shows the film’s timeless power and enormous impact on worldwide audiences. The original’s unwavering intensity, edge-of-your-seat thrills, and up-front exploration of human hopelessness struck an emotional chord with audiences, establishing its place as a cinematic classic.
The upcoming film The Wages of Fear released a teaser trailer recently, confirming its release date and a little look at the story that will follow.
The Wages of Fear | Official Teaser
The Wages of Fear teaser trailer – The race against the clock and risky shipment in deadly land starts.
The teaser gives a summary of the story as well as the risks faced through their ill-fated 800-kilometer trek over 20 hours.
The film’s teaser doesn’t seem to differ much from the original story, although nothing seems confident about the iconic original climax. The plot revolves around four down-on-their-luck Europeans who are compelled to team up for a risky adventure.
The Wages of Fear revolves around an oil well near a refugee camp in the middle of nowhere that catches fire, jeopardizing the lives of those around. The firm that owns the oil well must devise a plan to stop this tragedy.
The only alternative they discover is to carry dangerous nitroglycerin in shaky containers by trucks across 800 kilometers of rugged terrain in less than 20 hours. Naturally, the chemical is very flammable and extremely sensitive. If you move it around, it will explode.
The drivers broke and stuck in a dead-end town without prospects, are offered vast amounts of money to take on the journey, and their deadly trip starts. Not to add, their path is filled with armed criminals, rebels, minefields, & hostile landforms.
This teaser trailer does not use a lot of CGI. Unfortunately, it does show quite a bit of gunplay – footage of what appears to be a squad of experts locking and loading, tossing grenades at helicopters, and engaging in gunfights.
