Selma Blair, 51 years old American author and actress was diagnosed with a disease named ‘Autoimmune Disease’ back in 2008 and after her diagnosis, she has settled herself aside since 2021.

Selma Blair is very much open about her disorder and recently she opened up about her facing multiple sclerosis (MS) due to Gender bias. She recalled her unbearable struggles and immense pain along with the disdainful behavior of doctors towards her and her illness.

During the interview with Kristen Welker, the editor of Meet The Press Blair remembered those distressing moments of her life when no one helped her even the doctors were not paying attention to the major considerations.

She recalled that one of the doctors suggested to her that her symposium was quite familiar and suggested she have a boyfriend, who might help her improve. Blair remembers that she just cried the hell out of her because of all the frustrations that she had due to not being taken seriously.

She further said that she was in pain for real and she didn’t need that piece of advice at that time, since then she started convincing herself that she was oversensitive and it was not her fault to get yourself together and be herself all she could do at that time.

Selma Blair made some serious revelations that she had faced the symptoms since her Childhood she constantly complained about severe headaches as well as fever, and then she was called for an MRI, even after her MRI doctors advised her not to be too dramatic.

The actress revealed that her treatment on the other hand was giving a kind of mental trauma to her that made her mentally ill as well.

Nonetheless, when the actress was diagnosed with MS back in 2018 she said that after getting diagnosed with MS she was a bit relaxed that she had been provided with proper treatment and explanations, and someone finally understood her problems.

Blair told everything and every complication of hers to the doctor in the hope that this time she would get proper care and treatment, also she wrote to the doctors in which she highlighted the urgency of doctors to take a woman’s health seriously, who listen to them, help them and assure them regarding whatever problems they are facing.  After that, she recalls that she is living more peacefully every passing day after consultation.
