A television adaptation of Richard Gadd’s award-winning play ‘Baby Reindeer’ is all set to hit screens on Netflix – and that day isn’t far!
Based on Gadd’s personal experience with a stalker, the series shows him as himself in this adaptation. Thus we know that Baby Reindeer is an upcoming Netflix Original series based on the stage play written by the Scottish comedian.
The series has been directed by Weronika Tofilska, Josephine Bornebusch, and Jon Brittain. The production studio behind the curtains is Clerkenwell Films.

The hit 2019 Edinburgh Fringe one-man stage play Baby Reindeer told us about Gadd’s warped and twisted relationship with his female stalker, and how this left an impact on him thanks to the fact that he did not mention it to anyone and rather buried this deep, and dark trauma.

Who Will Be There As a Cast Member In the Series?
As you know, Richard Gadd will be starring in the role of himself – thereby reprising his role from the stage adaptation of the same name Baby Reindeer.
It is interesting to note that the comedian has never starred in a Netflix project, although he did write an episode for Sex Education.
Jessica Gunning plays the role of Martha, Gadd’s female stalker. Like her co-star, Jessica hasn’t starred in a Netflix project before. Her previous works include the 2014 movie, Pride.
Danny Kirrane plays the role of Gino – and if you have seen The Sandman, you might recognize Danny in a jiffy as he had previously played the character of Fun Land. His other previous works include The Serpent and Pirates of the Caribbean 5.
Nava Mau plays the role of Teri, making this her first role in a Netflix series. Her previous works include short films and the HBO TV series, Generation.

Where Did the Filming Take Place and When Does the Filming End?
Filming for the series reportedly began between August 22 to March 2023 – with several locations used such as London, England, and Edinburgh, Scotland.

Release Date
Netflix is yet to announce the release date for Baby Reindeer but we can expect it to be released late 2023 or early 2024 – it’s not too far away!
In terms of knowing about the episode count and such, it has been confirmed that there will be a total of 8 episodes with a running time of approximately 30 minutes each.
