Orion And The Dark Official Trailer Released on Netflix!

The latest trailer for Netflix’s Orion and the Dark, which reveals more about the upcoming animated feature, has been revealed.

Netflix features an extensive library of animated episodes and films, some of which have received high appreciation, such as Arcane and Nimona. One of their many planned projects is a children’s book adaption of Emma Yarlett’s book about dealing with fear.

As part of its Geeked Week promotions, Netflix recently released a new teaser for Orion and the Dark, detailing what to expect from the next film.

Orion And The Dark Trailer: A Young Boy Faces His Deepest Fear in This Touching Netflix Film.

The trailer indicates a lighthearted film in which Orion meets Dark, who leads him on a trip to face his fears. More nighttime entities are introduced in the trailer, and they appear to be accompanying them on their quest.

In the film, Orion appears to be your typical elementary school kid: quiet, shy, and having a hidden crush. But underneath his supposedly normal façade, Orion is an assemblage of teenage anxiety, totally consumed by absurd phobias of bees, dogs, the ocean, cell phone waves, deadly gutter clowns and even tumbling off a cliff.

So, when the actual embodiment of his darkest fear pays him a visit, Dark whisks Orion off on a roller coaster journey across the world to prove that there is nothing to fear in the night.

As the unusual duo becomes closer, Orion must decide if he is capable of accepting the unknown – to stop allowing fear to dictate his life and finally grasp the joy of living – and whether he can learn to accept the unknown.

The new film also marks the continuation of Netflix’s collaboration with DreamWorks Animation. Its latest teaser offers a hilarious yet heartwarming story about understanding that fear isn’t that bad after all.

The titular Orion is voiced by Jacob Tremblay (Room, Good Boys), and the Dark is spoken by Paul Walter Hauser (Richard Jewell, I, Tonya). The renowned Werner Herzog, the pioneer of New German Cinema, is going to be voicing someone—or something—as yet unknown in one of those gloriously weird casting decisions that so frequently appear in animated films. Maybe he’ll join us as a narrator?

Orion and the Dark is an upcoming DreamWorks Animation film directed by Sean Charmat and written by Charlie Kaufman (Adaptation, I’m Thinking of Ending Things).

Orion and the Dark will be available on Netflix on February 2, 2024.
