When will Astérix be released? Let’s find out the details of the Netflix animated series! Your favorite comic is returning– this time, it’s coming back as an animated series!

Since its first appearance in 1959, the Asterix franchise has managed to develop a rather large international following – for instance, more than 385 million copies of the books have been sold, translated into 111 languages and dialects – and a total of 14 films have been released since 1967 thereby including 10 cartoons and 4 live-action movies!

Netflix has recently made the decision to team up with Les Editions Albert Rene and tap TAT animation studios to create a banger show based on the iconic comic.

The Toulouse-based studio, TAT has taken it upon itself to recruit fresh talent in a campaign (60 graphic designers with an aggregate increase of workforce to 200!) in hopes of gearing up for the production – which is scheduled to release sometime in 2024.

Asterix has had several adaptations and we all know this, but this would be the first-ever animated series to be directed by Alain Chabat which marks it as an important project, although he had previously written and directed the popular 2002 flick ‘Asterix and Oblelix: Mission Cleopatra’ The series as you know, is gearing up for production. Recruitment is on the hunt for the best talent to deliver the best.

Despite being a legend, the Romans are constantly embarrassed by Asterix and his village cohorts – this leads the Romans to organize a noisy brawl between Asterix and their cohorts and their rivals, Gaulish chiefs. They try to fix the result by kidnapping a priest along with his magic potions.

However, things don’t go as they were intended to – as is in most situations! And in this case, this leads to a rather interesting turn of events for Asterix and his village cohorts.

We don’t have any more intel on the details yet – but all we know is that the 3D animated series will be coming to Netflix next year!
