Steven Maeda and Matt Owens have developed the upcoming fantasy adventure TV series ‘One Piece’. It is a live-action adaptation of the same Japanese manga series by Eiichiro Oda.
The plot revolves around the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates through dangerous oceans in order to seek the fabled treasure called “One Piece” that will make Monkey D. Luffy, their captain, “King of the Pirates”.
With the navy on the tail of their ship and other crew searching for that One Piece, the Straw Hats pirates are ready to fight together for their dreams.
Mexican actor Iñaki Godoy has been cast in the role of Monkey D. Luffy in the upcoming series. Other primary cast members are Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Taz Skylar. The series is scheduled to be released on August 31, 2023 on Netflix.

Hiroaki Matsuyama directed this Japanese language TV series that is adapted from Shiki Kawabata’s manga series ‘Sora wo Kakeru Yodaka’.
The plot revolves around a high school student Ayumi whose perfect world crumbles after an envious classmate named Zenko mysteriously steals her body as well as her boyfriend and life.
Miu Tomita and Kaya Kiyohara portrayed the main characters in the series. It was released on Netflix on August 1, 2018.

This mainland Chinese TV series is adapted from Yoko Kamio’s Japanese manga series ‘Boys Over Flowers’ and is a remake of the same 2001 Taiwanese series.
The plot revolves around Dong Shancai who is determined to star in her dream university while encountering an elite clique of popular dashing high-achieving students and also love. Shen Yue portrayed Dong Shancai in the series. The series ran from 9th July to 29 August 2018.

This Japanese dark fantasy crime mystery psychological thriller series is adapted from Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba’s same-named manga series.
The plot revolves around a notebook that can kill anyone whose name will be written on its pages. A reserved and intelligent college student Light Yagami decides to use the notebook to turn this world into a utopia.
But when an enigma international detective referred to as “L” begins to pursue him, they engage in a cat-and-mouse game. Masataka Kubota and Kento Yamazaki portrayed Light and L respectively in the series. It ran from 5th July to 13th September of 2015.

This Japanese TV anthology series is adapted from Shin’ya Shokudō and Yarō Abe’s manga. The plot is set in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo and revolves around a late-night diner involving a mysterious chef known as “Master” and his customers. The series was released on October 9, 2009.
