Argylle | Official Trailer

AppleTV+ and Universal Pictures recently released the official trailer for Argylle. It began with a dramatic musical soundtrack, and blonde Dua Lipa told Cavill that she wished she could dance well in the same manner he dressed. The Witcher star is ready for the task, stating, “There’s only one way to find out.”

As they take the floor, the music starts. But something unexpected happens when the singer refers to Cavill as “Agent Argylle” when everyone around them is holding him at gunpoint. He then seeks John Cena for help, allowing him to leave. A rapid, action-packed turn of events follows.

Vaughn masterfully works over-the-top violence, humor, James Bond-esque style, and distinct characters into one exclusive experience with the three Kingsman films.

Argylle is trying something similar. Rather than focusing only on a secret organization, the film, this time, follows the story of Elly, an acclaimed spy fiction writer.

Despite leading an isolated existence and spending most of her time at home, she is about to be thrown into chaos after meeting an unknown, Aiden, on the train.

From there, she unintentionally becomes engaged in the world of spies and killings, something she never expected to happen.

As it turns out, her book unintentionally referenced actual spying missions. Of course, this attracts the notice of the spies, notably Argylle and the evil character Bryan Cranston.

The cast for Argylle is impressive, with Man of Steel & Enola Holmes actor Henry Cavill playing the titular role. Bryce Dallas Howard, who played Conway in Jurassic World, becomes the reclusive author whose spy books about Argylle are now reflecting reality.

Sam Rockwell, well known for his performance in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, also appears in Argylle as Aidan, a spy who pretends to be coming to Conway’s aid. Catherine O’Hara, widely known for appearing in Schitt’s Creek and Home Alone, joins them as Conway’s mother.

In Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston plays a man who believes Conway can foretell the future and wishes to kidnap her to force her to accomplish a task. Dua Lipa will also play an unspecified part in Argylle.

The teaser shows us John Cena, as another likely imaginary spy on Argylle’s side. Sofia Boutella, Rob Delaney, Jason Fuchs, Ariana DeBose, Samuel L. Jackson,  and Jing Lusi round out the Argylle cast.

The theatrical release of Argylle is set for February 2, 2024. Furthermore, it will be available on Apple TV+ later because it is an Apple Original Film. Its streaming release date, however, has yet to be determined.
