One Piece Season 2 Production Details and More.

Netflix has announced the One Piece Season 2, and here’s all we have on the next part of Luffy’s live-action adventure.

The live-action One Piece adaptation on Netflix is approaching season 2, and there have already been several character, story, and release date rumors and theories regarding what Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates will be up to next.

There’s already a lot to talk about for the new season of One Piece on Netflix because the show is based on the manga & anime by Eiichiro Oda.

The second season of One Piece continues the Arabasta Saga, the following arc in the manga and anime, and depicts the early stages of the Straw Hat Pirates’ journey across the Grand Line.

One-Piece Season 2 Renewal Status

Netflix has renewed season 2 of One Piece. The official announcement came in September 2023, just a few weeks after the show’s August 31 release.

The news sparked the interest of anime fans, eager to watch Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates’ exploits continue.

The announcement that Netflix has renewed One Piece for another season was fairly predictable but was nevertheless favorably welcomed.

Expected Release Date of Season 2

One Piece will not be returning this year. However, if the strikes end shortly and production begins by the end of 2023, we may see One Piece season 2 in late 2024.

That is if the filming process only takes 12 months. However, if it takes 18 months, the expected release date may be pushed forward to 2025. So, for now, we’re looking at a release date of 2024 or 2025.

All we need right now is for the SAG-AFTRA strike to end so that production on One Piece season 2 may begin.

The Cast and Characters of Season 2

The confirmed season 2 cast list is still a mystery. However, we have a guess as to who would do so. We’ll see the actors that play Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates again because the show centers on them.

What Will Be the Storyline for the Upcoming Season?

The Manga series events are expected to follow in the Netflix One Piece season 2 story. The first season continued the East Blue Saga before entering the Loguetown Arc.

The live-action One Piece season 2 plot will most likely complete the Loguetown Arc before moving on to the Arabasta Saga, the manga’s second saga after the East Blue Saga.

During the Loguetown Arc, the Straw Hats will face Captain Smoker and rivals who want their bounty. Monkey D. Dragon is also revealed in the current installment.

The introduction of Mr. 9 as well as Ms. Wednesday, a dinosaur-filled island, and the eventual appearance of the wicked Baroque Works leader Crocodile—who is a key member in the ongoing civil war in Arabasta—are some of the significant events that the Straw Hats could come across.
