In the upcoming TV series, Aria Mia Loberti, a student from Penn State working on her Ph.., will be making her acting debut as Marie-Laure. She got the role after a big casting call held by Shawn Levy to find actresses with low vision.

Louis Hoffman, known from the show ‘Dark,’ will play Werner, a smart teenager recruited by the German army to use radios to find illegal broadcasts. Mark Ruffalo will act as Marie-Laure’s dad, Daniel LeBlanc, who works as a locksmith at a museum in Paris.

Hugh Laurie will be Etienne LeBlanc, Marie-Laure’s uncle, and a war hero dealing with PTSD. Another important character is Sergeant Major Reinhold von Rumpel, a ruthless Nazi officer who is terminally ill and searching for a special diamond that’s said to grant eternal life, played by Lars Eidinger.
