Maggie hopes to get some steady work, so she goes to the nearby hotel and asks for information. They must have the ideal “groaner” exterminator in the neighborhood.

Maggie lets her guard down as she goes hunting, and she gets captured again, this time by the pub owner. Maggie surprises them all, getting rid of the guards and fleeing out the back door. She notices Negan there. The story moves to the past, and we find Maggie following a man named Negan.

Maggie approaches Negan and wants him to help her since the Croat has taken her child, and she feels Negan can assist her in retrieving him.

As Negan and Maggie approach Babylon City, we notice two zombies dangling on a rope right before the door. In another scene, marshals are looking for Negan on charges of murder.

The police officer inquires about Negan with the pub owner (where he stayed a few days before), and she tells him everything. The police officer then tosses her out of the fence, and we notice a barrier dividing the city.

On one side, commoners are living, while on the other, zombies are living. When the marshal discovers a half-torn map book, he guesses Maggie and Negan are in Manhattan.

The streets are full of traps, and Maggie almost steps right into the most obvious one until Negan points it out to her. There’s also a car driving about with music blasting, which attracts an army of zombies.

As the Marshalls close in, gunshots shatter the air, blasting machine gun fire into the crowd. Negan, Maggie, and Chris enter a clothing shop while fleeing gunfire in a game of cat and mouse.

Pearly Armstrong is the commanding officer. He explains the complexities of New Babylon to Maggie, pleading with her to hand over Negan.
