In the captivating tale of ‘Bloodhounds,’ the narrative revolves around the journey of Kim Gun-woo, a young and aspiring boxer.

Faced with the urgency of repaying his mother’s loan, Gun-woo decides to participate in a rookie tournament to secure the necessary funds.

However, the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic has plunged small business owners into financial distress, making it increasingly challenging for them to settle their debts. This dire situation has given rise to individuals like Kim Myeong-Gil, a notorious loan shark.

Myeong-Gil sets his sights on getting involved in a business venture orchestrated by Hong Min-beom, an influential entrepreneur. This plan involves the acquisition of an under-construction hotel with the intention of transforming it into a casino.

However, when Hong rejects Myeong-Gil’s proposition, the loan shark resorts to employing his henchmen, who launch a brutal assault on Hong and capture an incriminating video, meant to humiliate him.

Meanwhile, Gun-woo meets fellow boxer Hong Woo-Jin during the tournament, and they quickly become friends due to their shared experiences in the Marine Corps.

Gun-woo’s kind-heartedness contrasts with Woo-Jin’s street smarts. Hyeon-Ju, Mr. Choi’s granddaughter, aims to expose the man who deceived her grandfather.

Mr. Choi provides zero percent interest loans to those in need, and Yang Jae-Meyong exploited his kindness. However, Hyeon-Ju’s pursuit reveals a broader conspiracy.

Gun-woo’s mother falls victim to Small Capital, Myeong-Gil’s company, which offers her a loan at very low-interest rates but embezzles money from its clients.

When Gun-woo’s mother can’t repay the loan, her café is vandalized, leading Gun-woo to confront Myeong-Gil’s henchman but ultimately losing the fight and getting scarred in the process.

Hyeon-Ju uncovers Jae-Meyong’s scheme of stealing Ids from the homeless to obtain loans from loan sharks, channeling the funds to Smile Capital.

Worried about her well-being, Mr. Choi hires Gun-woo and Woo-Jin as Hyeon-Ju’s bodyguards and assists Gun-woo in repaying his mother’s loan. Initially, their relationship is rocky, but they bond over their shared goal of helping those targeted by loan sharks.

Their investigation reveals Myeong-Gil’s illicit practices and his history with Mr. Choi. Myeong-Gil finds that Mr. Choi’s people are after him, as he had betrayed Mr. Choi in the past and left him paralyzed. Mr. Choi calls his trusted henchmen out of retirement, but their plan fails, resulting in the deaths of Mr. Choi and his henchman. Gun-woo, Woo-Jin, and Hyeon-Ju manage to escape, becoming the only survivors.
