Danny Sullivan gets arrested after he and his buddy Ariana open fire on a guy in a public place. Danny is not charged with murder since two people are shot, but no one is killed.

He informs the officers about Ariana, but she flees and has not been located after the incident. There’s also no indication of Danny’s landlord, Yitzhak.

The cops are concerned that Danny may have murdered them. Rya Goodwin, on the other hand, believes otherwise.

Danny feels safer with Yitzhak, who gives him a place in the boarding house because he dislikes his stepfather. Ariana also rooms there, and despite her mood swings, they become friends.

Danny begins to regard them as his true family and spends the following three years with them at the house. Then there’s the gunshot, and Danny is compelled to flee.

When he is apprehended, he wonders what became of Ariana and Yitzhak. Rya mentions something that alters everything after hearing his narrative.

We return to flashback mode and see Angelo breaking into the ghost home. He came to retrieve his gun and beat or murder Danny for bothering him.

Danny’s first order of business was to advise Annabelle to take refuge in the closet and not make any noise until they were safe. Then Danny took the rifle and drew Angelo towards him under the pretense of returning it to him.

When he dropped all the bullets, he lost the element of surprise. Yitzhak had returned, unbeknownst to everyone in the home, and he had benched Danny so that he could handle the problem alone.

Annabelle made a noise before he could do so, drawing Angelo into the closet. When he started attacking her, Yitzhak hit Angelo.

Angelo soiled his pants and fled when he was threatened with death. Yitzhak asked Ariana and Danny to leave because they violated his home regulations.

The next day, while waiting outside the ghost house, Marlin asked Danny to return home, but Danny did not react. Ariana disclosed that she had made a bargain with Yitzhak when he began packing.

So she was going to be able to remain. Realising Danny was vulnerable, Ariana proposed scaring her attacker so he would never gaze at her again. We know Danny promised to help Ariana.

However, at the end of The Crowded Room, Episode 3, it is revealed that the person Ariana and Danny went after in the Rockefeller Centre was Marlin. Rya asks the obvious question: how can Danny’s stepfather harm Ariana?

Danny claims that he believed Marlin knew Ariana’s family and that this is how he gained access to Ariana.

When Rya argues it’s too coincidental that Danny ended up residing at the same place as his stepfather’s victim, Danny dismisses everything and gives life to another conspiracy theory.

If it wasn’t already evident, the entire affair is a fabrication of Danny’s imagination. He only wanted to murder Marlin because he despised his guts. Marlin is harsh to him, and he does not treat Candy correctly. So Danny may have wished to put an end to Candy’s suffering.

On the other hand, his damaged mind is constructing a narrative that absolves him of criminal intent and places the responsibility on persons who may or may not exist. We’ll have to wait until next week to determine if that’s the case.
