Show creator Charlie Brooker was a comedy writer previously. While he was working on programs like ‘Newswipe’, he decided to develop an anthology series modeled in the style of ‘The Twilight Zone’, ‘Hammer House of Horror’, and ‘Tales of the Unexpected’.

The first series premiered on December 4, 2011, on Channel 4. From the third season, the series began to air on Netflix.

Season five was released on June 5, 2019. Netflix released the official trailer of ‘Black Mirror season 6 on YouTube on May 31, 2023. The sixth season consisting of five episodes is set to premiere on 15th June this year.

The first episode of the sixth season is titled “Joan Is Awful”.
