The Succession Series Finale preview has made a point of emphasizing the considerable business negotiation that will be a battle for the Roy children, Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Shiv (Sarah Snook), as they try to outmaneuver each other for control of the business and its future direction.

The events in that boardroom are pushing each of the Roys to their breaking point (or beyond), but that is not where the series will leave things, most likely for good.

Many Succession fans observed an early scene in Episode 9 when Ken, Shiv, and Roman arrive for their father’s burial.

During the limo ride, Roman mockingly mentions how their mother, Caroline Collingwood (Harriet Walter), wants them all to fly to the Caribbean to reunite following Logan’s death.

The idea is initially dismissed, but by the end of “Church and State,” none of the protagonists are where they anticipated to be when the day began.

In fact, given how the previous episode ended (with Roman rushing out into a sea of demonstrators to provoke them into physical conflict nihilistically), he might need a retreat to the islands…

With all of this on the table, it’s easy to assume that Succession’s Final Episode will focus on the Roy Family dynamic in two key locations: in the business boardroom, attempting to settle the biggest deal of their lives, and at one of the family’s luxurious Caribbean estates, where the proper weight of Logan’s death and the Waystar deal finally weighs down on the family bonds (or lack thereof).
