The issue is made clear to Beverly and frigid opioid profiteer Rebecca during dinner in the last episode. She has used well-oiled connections and blood money to keep journalist Silas from revealing the full extent of the Mantle sister’s deranged, immoral, and illegal actions.

The new strategy is to lie Elliot in the path of the approaching bus, freeing Beverly to continue working at the birthing facility in preparation for a national rollout.

Before the hit piece airs, Beverly is coerced into publicly criticizing her sister. Genevieve departs to film a new movie on location after the public flogging of the twin sisters is finished, and Beverly takes advantage of the time to visit her sister’s flat.

She arrives at Elliot and Greta’s (Poppy Liu) house, which is appropriately littered with Amazon parcels, blood, glass, and other sinister-looking debris, considering this show’s streaming home.

Elliot isn’t there, though. She is missing. The surface of her lab in their opulent building. Before Beverly discovers the results of Elliot’s Frankensteiner: she has developed not one but two baby fetuses in the state-of-the-art lab, and the sisters experience an emotional and tense reunion.

As a last-minute swap, Beverly removes her hairband, and Elliot pulls back her hair to fasten it. The birth room reality from The Dead Ringers returns for one more scene as Elliot slashes her stomach open and immediately sews it back together while lying on a nearby hospital stretcher.

She then takes the knife to Beverly, who is now comatose, and cuts into her womb to extract one sobbing baby, then another.

Holding the infants to her fleshy stitched-up skin, Elliot screams for aid before collapsing and leaving a trail of blood across the maternity clinic.

Beverly has started a new life without her sister and is now in charge of the prosperity of the Mantle company. She is being praised by Rebecca (Jennifer Ehle), Genevieve, and many around her as she finally emerges from Elliot’s shadow.

However, the former “canceled” journalist Silas is threatening to reveal the truth about Elliot, her drug use, the alleged murder of a homeless lady, and much more.

When Rebecca informs Beverly about this over dinner, Beverly is also instructed to end her relationship with her sister publicly. Beverly is ready to push back when Rebecca adds that they also provided Silas with further information about Elliot that might further damage her reputation.

Beverly has been hurt by Genevieve’s choice to leave for a job, and the two are at odds over Elliot’s place in their union. At the important awards ceremony that evening, Beverly receives her medal.

In response to pressure from Rebecca and Genevieve, she decides to openly break her relationship with Elliot during this time.

She states that Elliot has acted in a way that indicates he is “unwell” and has been for some time throughout her speech.

Then, Tom (Michael Chernus) confronts Beverly over their recent success as top innovators in their field; later, we witness Beverly say farewell to Genevieve for her work and descend into severe sadness without Elliot. She feels compelled to return to their previous flat by some prophecy from Elliot.

But Elliot and Greta are nowhere to be seen, and she takes a call from her sister while she covers herself in Elliot’s bedclothes.

Finally, Beverly confesses her inability to be happy when they meet at Elliot’s lab, where she has been creating embryos from Tom and Beverly’s DNA.
