The episode’s opening sequence depicts the interns getting ready for a party in Meredith’s old home, but Griffith needs help focusing on being the host. Trey, her ex, had shown up in Seattle to reconcile with her, and she was trying to figure out how she felt about him.

Afterward, we find out that Trey wants Griffith back after they got engaged and started a serious relationship. She can’t stand the strain, so Adams finds her in her room. When the doorbell rings, they are talking and making out.

Trey appeared. He declares his love for her to her from the outside. Adams questioned Griffith if she still had feelings for Trey, but she remained silent. He recognizes her silence and behaves responsibly. She doesn’t need to apologize, he says.

At the party, Trey proposes to Griffith once more. Everyone applauds the pair once she accepts, except Adams, who looks defeated.

Jo wonders why Amilia gave Link the finger. She claims that Link was made for her, to which Amilia responds that she wasn’t, but Jo could be. The episode’s focus, however, is on Natalia, a patient of Richard and Maggie’s who required brain surgery due to a severe tumor.

Kwan encouraged Natalia and her husband, Elliot, to divorce because they had little money. A “medical divorce,” though. As a result, Natalia would receive additional insurance benefits, and Elliot would avoid becoming bankrupt due to medical debt. Despite Maggie yelling at him for it, Kwan continues to insist on his answer.

While the couple eventually divorced, Natalia’s physical problems remain very present.
