The plot’s background is of Australian islands, distant from the typical Australian locations like the desert or Sydney. Black Snow presents a fresh and innovative mystery, but it is also well done.

James realizes that the neighborhood police didn’t put much effort into cracking the case as the narrative goes on. He finds it aggravating that nobody, not even Isabel’s family, is being honest.
He pursues hints that lead him to an incident just before Isabel dies. Two young islander lads vanished. The boys’ disappearance was unreported because of their unlawful status, and Ezekiel, who was assigned to them as their protector, passed away.
Isabel was a friend of Ezekiel’s, and although there was talk that they were dating, Isabel was only assisting Ezekiel in his search for the boys.
We are introduced to Anton, Isabel’s young boyfriend, as the show cuts between the past and the present. While they appeared to be in love, Anton and Isabel split up at a party soon before she passed away.
In the present, Anton appears to be a troubled guy since his father constantly scowls at him and beats him like an adolescent. James observes that it is peculiar but refuses to identify the assailant when Anton is physically assaulted.
Later, it is discovered that Hazel is concealing the fact that Kal, her daughter, is also Anton’s child. Hazel describes how the two grew close after Isabel died, and then it happened.
She never revealed her father’s identity before they parted ways. She felt guilty. But Anton takes Kal away so that she may learn the truth because he knows she is her daughter. As they arrive at the location where the two missing lads were found, James and Hazel follow them there.
It was Anton’s father who killed Isabel. During her inquiry, she found that the wealthy residents of the town were abusing laborers precisely like the two boys and that Anton’s father had kidnapped and killed the boys under the influence of his prejudice and feeling of entitlement.
When Isabel realized this, she had to be stopped immediately. Anton has since lived under his father’s boot to prevent the secret from being revealed. James takes Anton’s father into custody, forcing Anton to decide for the first time in a very long time.
Isabel is given a last funeral so she can finally rest in peace. Given that Richie may have gotten in touch with his father while imprisoned, the series closes with James hearing from him.
