The JBL Live Pro 2: Design, Features, Sound Quality, and more!

JBL Live Pro 2 is ideal for fitness and sports. They’re well-made and have an IPX5 rating for resistance to direct water contact. They’re also rather comfy, although they lack stabilizing fins and can fall out of your ears if not correctly fitted.

On the plus side, they have a battery life of more than eight hours. In addition, their carrying bag has three extra chargers, which come in handy in a hurry.

Design of The JBL Live Pro 2

The JBL Live Pro 2

It would be boring to assume that the The JBL Live Pro 2 resembled most other true wireless headsets with a stem. The shiny rear of the stem gives a touch of design at a price when the function is usually prioritized above appearance, but the JBL is a decent mix of the two. However, the look may attract specific fingerprints and smudges.

The buds, which come in four different colors (blue, rose, black, and silver), are quite pleasant to wear for extended periods of time. If the headphones do not fit the first time, three sizes of ear tips are offered.

Price and Availability

The JBL Live Pro 2

The JBL Live Pro 2 will be available in June 2022 for $149.95. We tried the dark blue buds, which seem more black under specific settings, but there are also silver, rose (pink), and black options.

When writing, the black earbuds were $99.95 in the UK and US – excellent news if you can’t justify buying more than $100 on a new set.

Features

The JBL Live Pro 2

With all of the available functions in the JBL app, you’d assume this was a more expensive actual wireless speaker. There is built-in voice assistance for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and both wake phrases are enabled for hands-free voice control (Google is pretty prompt at answering queries).

And it’s a performance that you can tune to your preferences. For example, the noise cancellation may be personalized via an app test. In contrast, Ambient Aware filters general surrounding noises (the amount can be adjusted in the app).

Finally, TalkThru mode trains the microphones on voices so the wearer can continue a conversation without taking the earbuds off. Both ways provide steady clarity and improved awareness.

The Sound Quality

The JBL Live Pro 2

The sound quality provided by these buds is excellent for the price. Right out of the box, there’s a decent balance over the whole range and a reasonably expansive soundstage – especially when the volume is turned up high.

They handle bass well, and voices are often evident. There was some detail here, but it needed to be on pace with the best-in-class buds, such as the Apple AirPods Pro 2. As much as we like the sound here, we believe audiophiles would prefer greater clarity and detail, a larger soundstage, and a deeper sound.

However, most people will be satisfied with these buds, especially because you can customize the sound and create your own presets.

Conclusion

In almost every regard, the JBL Live Pro 2 true wireless earbuds outperform their competition. Noise cancellation is very effective and adjustable, making it ideal for busy, noisy workplaces and commuting.

The sound is excellent, the EQ customization is fantastic, and while call quality might be better, most people won’t notice until they make many calls regularly.
