Regarding gaming peripherals, ROCCAT has never hesitated to deviate from the norm, and the Kone XP Air is no different. The Air is one of the most comfortable mouse, thanks to its ergonomic design.
The location of the buttons also provides a lot of helpful access for the index finger and thumb to use during gaming sessions. You’ll have plenty of input possibilities with ten programmable buttons and a 4D scroll wheel.
The Kone XP Air, like its predecessor, has 3D lighting effects via five LED panels hidden under a transparent shell. This slightly differs from the Kone XP, which featured eight illumination zones.
Software for the Roccat Kone XP Air
Roccat’s accompanying software gives you access to various performance and aesthetic options, although it’s a touch rough around the edges. The arrangement of the tool kit is a touch overwhelming in terms of design, and finding specific options isn’t always straightforward.
However, it will be a lot simpler to make changes if you are aware of where everything is. My main worry with Swarm is its sync temperament since adding settings will sometimes achieve nothing. It isn’t a recurring hiccup but quite irritating.

The Kone XP Air’s Features and Software
The Roccat Kone XP Air is powered by Roccat’s peripherals companion software Swarm, which is feature-rich but straightforward. You can change almost everything on the Kone XP Air using Swarm, including polling rate, LOD, RGB, button assignment, scroll speed, DPI, and even double-click speed.
The Kone XP Air has various button mapping options thanks to Easy-Shift. In addition, Swarm allows you to remap any mouse button to perform almost anything, from altering DPI on the fly to seeing DirectX Diagnostics (seriously).
Swarm’s pinned page is another useful function. When you run the program, the marked page appears as the first page that appears, and it may display whatever functionality you desire, such as the battery level or DPI adjustment. The Kone XP Air features internal memory that can hold up to four profiles.
The Kone XP Air’s battery life
The Kone XP Air’s battery life of 100 hours is pretty good, especially considering the mouse features five RGB zones and 29 configurable button functions. Because the Kone XP Air charges quickly, only 10 minutes of charging results in an additional 5 hours of playtime. Roccat does not indicate the mouse’s battery life while connected to Bluetooth.
Roccat provides a USB-C charging cable and a Rapid Charging Dock, which is heavier than other charging docks I’ve tested and has more built-in RGB than other ergonomic gaming mice on the market today. It looks adorable when the Kone XP Air is sleeping on the charging dock.

The Roccat Kone XP Air isn’t your typical ergonomic mouse; it’s loaded with RGB and customizable features. Furthermore, Roccat’s Swarm software is highly speedy and feature-rich.
The mouse’s 100-hour battery life, charging dock, and dual wireless connection make it an incredible wireless alternative. Its appearance isn’t for everyone, but I believe it’s appealing. The 4D scroll wheel is a beautiful idea, but it’s done terribly and is very noisy, and the excessively sensitive Easy-Shift button didn’t work for me.
