The new Oppo Reno 8 series includes the smartphones Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro. The company is adamant about the stance it wants to take with its products. One of them, the Reno 8 Pro, is positioned as a premium option and is available for less than Rs 30,000.
In this review, after using it for more than a few weeks, we focus on the latter. It sports a trustworthy MediaTek chipset and is built on a premium chassis. However, does that convince the buyer to fork over Rs.45,000 for this smartphone?
We tried to find the answer in this case. The Reno 8 Pro displays the meticulous thought Oppo generally gives to the design of its devices. The aluminium frame and high-quality glass construction provide the ideal hand-feel.
The phone weights less than most in its class as well. The bezels are very thin, increasing the screen footprint.
The Oppo Reno8 Pro Design
Another noticeable aspect of the Reno 8 Pro’s design is the consistency with which the camera module integrates into the back panel. There is a power button on the right. If you examine the Reno 8 Pro’s pricing and specifications, you might decide that it is worthwhile.
Oppo Reno 8 Pro Display Another enticing aspect of the Reno 8 Pro is its screen. It boasts a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a low 394 PPI pixel density and Full HD+ resolution. The screen-to-body ratio of 93.5 percent earns it an additional point, though.
We must say that we prefer the flat screen to the curved ones we generally get in this price range because the AMOLED panel accurately reproduces the colours of the display. The display quality is generally fairly decent.
The Reno 8 Pro’s fluidity and smoothness will be appreciated by you thanks to the extraordinarily clear appearance of the blacks and the 120Hz refresh rate.
Having said that, we believed there might be a problem if users unintentionally touched the in-display fingerprint sensor and prevented the phone from being unlocked.
You will find the amount of bloatware that has been loaded on the phone annoying. People who pay Rs 45,000 don’t want the hassle even if the bulk of them can be deleted. Daily tasks can be completed without too much difficulty, and you can even play games.
However, there have been a few instances where the phone’s back panel has heated up, especially near the camera module. All things considered, though, we were eager to test out this chipset, and it’s safe to say we were pleasantly delighted.
