M3GAN Update The author, director, and producer are known for such horror films as Saw, Insidious, and The Conjuring. A feature of his films is the ability to not only create horror from ghosts, and demon-possessed dolls, but also the ability to weave key characters that are important throughout the story and to make the audience come back to follow a few in the first one. films in which the characters are mentioned and the world is presented.
While still in a shocking state of affairs, M3GAN will add a sci-fi feature to the film as it follows Gemma (played by Williams), an ancient robot expert M3GAN, a life-like doll using artificial intelligence and advertised by a childhood friend and parent assistant.
Gemma decides to use the M3GAN model in her home with her newly adopted niece, a decision that could cause harm to Gemma and her nephew. The film’s poster depicts M3GAN, an AI doll with some vague local quality, staring at the creep past a dimly sophisticated personal profile.

M3GAN is the only recent film that explores how AI in the form of a human being can affect real human relationships. In a shocking turn of events, there is the highly acclaimed Ex Machina in which Alicia Vikander plays a quiet AI creation who has turned deadly in hopes of escaping her lab.
Recently in the genre, there is Kogonada’s After Yang, which tends to have a more optimistic view of AI opportunities, as well as the emotional connections that people can build with human-like AI models.
Although not an AI, Wan is familiar with horror films that focus on the evil dolls, as his past work covers various Annabelle films in the universe called The Conjuring. Whether Wan will apply the techniques and themes used in Annabelle in the upcoming film remains to be seen.
With films like Annabelle Comes Home and Ex Machina in the latest memory of viewers who have ever seen anywhere, it will be a daunting task to make a film featuring a villain doll or an AI villain that will surprise and shock the audience.
That being said, Wan is a veteran specialist in the shocking genre and has experience working with Blumhouse, who has been a supporting company for the production of his past films.
These features, along with actors such as Williams and Ronny Chieng, could make M3GAN a film to be seen in a growing genre that incorporates human-like AI. Viewers will have to judge for themselves that M3GAN will make them sit on the edge of their seats as they did with Wan’s previous horror films when it was first screened in 2023.
