Top Boy Season 2 Updates: Top boy is a British Crime Drama Series officially released on Channel 4 in the UK in 2011. The series is written by Ronan Bennett and he is also the creator of the series.
The story spins around an incident that took place in the summerhouse housing estate at Hackney in East London. It spins around a group of people who are in drug peddling and stuff, and how can we forget the gang wars.
The first season of the series was released on October 31st, 2011 on Channel 4, and the series ended on 3rd, November 2011. And the second season of the series was released on 20th August 2013 each had 4 episodes. The show got huge success and positive reviews by the critics however the series was dropped down by the network.
A Canadian rapper named Drake is a huge fan of the series or we can say he is the reason why the series is being renewed. From the sources it is revealed, Drake spoke to Netflix for the renewal of the series.
Top Boy Season 2 Cast And Ruthless Gang Leader Jamie
As far as now we all are expecting that all the original cast members of the series will be returning for their roles as Ashley Walters will return as Dushane, Kane Robinson will reprise as Sully, Michael Ward will return as Jamie. And some other cast members are Lisa Dwan in the role of Trust, and the rest of the cast members.
In the last few seasons of the series we have witnessed, The Top Boy spins around a boy named Ra’Nell, who is struggling to live a dangerous crime paced life with his mother named Lisa, Lisa is admitted to the mental hospital. On the other hand, there is two local drug dealer, as “I mentioned two so don’t think they are friends, not at all they are not friends they are rivals”. Sully and Dushane both are trying to be on top and control the business.
To control the business and to be on top they ought to take some difficult decisions. As the series moves ahead we witness Dushane facing the consequences of the work he has done to be on top and stay one step ahead of Sully.
On the other side, we see Ra’Nell’s mother who was in the mental hospital, she is out now and all she wants is to give her life a fresh start. In the last few episodes of season 2, we see a survivor who is also trying to give his life a fresh start in a world full of violence and drugs.
Top Boy reboot starts from where season 2 was ended. We see Sully is arrested and taken to custody. On the other hand, Dushane is running for his life, escaping from the consequences of his doing. And at the start of season 3, we see both of them had returned to the Summerhouse estate, where all of this has started.
We saw both of them are ready to keep aside their rivalry and join forces as Dushane is now ready to claim his position in the drug market and Sully wants to get his dignity back after coming from prison.
However, they have a long walk to make as there is a new gang leader named Jamie, like his name he is young and ruthless.
The Top Boy reboot or Top Boy Season 1 was released on Netflix on 3rd September 2019, with 10 episodes.
Top Boy Season 2 or Top Boy Season 4 will release on Netflix on 18th March 2022.
