Top 8 Variants of Doctor Strange from the Marvel Comics

There are numerous variants of Doctor Strange who had appeared in the comic books from time to time and all of them have the same uniques abilities and most of them are the Sorcerer Supreme in their own Universe. But today we will just discuss Doctor Strange’s variants who are popular in comics and mostly about whom I have read in comics.

As a Comic books fan, I have read so many issues of Marvel comics but there are almost thousands of comics about which I haven’t learned yet. So I will talk about Doctor Strange’s variant about which I have read in the comic books.

Strange 2099

She is one and the only female variant of Doctor Strange and We have read about her in ‘Spider-Man 2089’ comics, Although she is from the future the powers of her were limited she was only exploring her powers in the issue after which suddenly the creators of the comic book series Peter David and Rick Leonardi had discontinued her character. She was strong but wasn’t as much our Doctor Strange of MCU. Her real name is Jeannie from Earth-928.

Strange 2099
Marvel Comics

The series was started in 1992 and was discontinued in 1996, because of a lack of content for the comic book, although the sale of the first and second issue was really good, after which The Amazing Spider-Man Series was created.

Sir Stephen Strange of 1602

The character Sir Stephen Strange was created in the early 1600 century in Marvel Comics, In comics, the character was introduced in Marvel 1602 issue was created by Neil Gaiman in 2001. Every superhero in this issue was plotted in 1602 and it was a limited series.

Sir Stephen Strange
Marvel Comics

Sir Stephen Strange is much more powerful than Doctor Strange of MCU, as he had interacted with The Watcher and he had sacrificed himself to be the ultimate reality and timeline.

Animal Variants of Doctor Strange

The funniest and interesting variants of every superhero in Marvel Universe are animal one as we have seen Loki’s Animal variants in the LOKI series on Disney Plus. Similarly we two animal variants of Doctor Strange.

Croctor Strange

Ducktor Strange or Simon Strange

As the name suggests in the duck variant of Doctor Strange who is from Earth-791021, where all the superheroes are in animal forms like Howard the Duck and others in the Duckworld issue of Marvel Comics.

Steamin Strange or Croctor Strange

He is from the Earth-8311 and he is the Crocodile variant of Doctor Strange and he is also called the “Mallard of the Mystic Arts”. The animal variants of Doctor Strange also have similar abilities to Mystic Arts and they are the sorcerer of supreme of their universe.

Doctor Strange Fate

Although I don’t it’s possible for the cross-over of MCU and DCEU, we had the cross-over of DC and Marvel Comics, where we had the amalgamation of two similar characters into one in a very strange universe.

Doctor Strange Fate
Art Station

And we had the Stephen Strange in that universe who had been created by mixing the abilities of Doctor Strange of Marvel and Doctor Fate of DC Comics.

Although it was a limited series the Doctor Strange Fate was the strongest of all the variants of Doctor Strange, and the reason we all know it was because he the powers of both Doctor Strange and Doctor Fate.

Do you know Doctor Fate will be introduced in movies from the Balck Adam?

Defender Strange

We had a Defender Series on Netflix which had Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist. But in Comics there were so many other Superheroes in the Defenders Comic Issues which was first published in 1969. Since the inception of the Defender Series Hulk and Defender Strange were the main characters of the series.

Defender Strange in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness

Defender Strange has been confirmed in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness. As we have already noticed in the trailer of the movie which was released as the end-credit of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Evil Doctor Strange

One of the most popular variants after our Doctor Strange of MCU is EVil Doctor Strange who has introduced in comics years ago but was recently seen in the Marvel’s What If…? Series.

We have already seen how evil is he in search of more Mystic Powers and later he became the disciple of Dormammu.

Evil Doctor Strange in Doctor Strange:Multiverse of Madness

As Evil Strange would also be in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness, we can explore the character more and his evilness will really be exciting to watch. We have already seen Petre Parker’s three variants bit all of the themes were really good characters, but it will be exciting to watch the evil variant of the Superhero now.

Ultimate Doctor Strange

Last in our list but he is the most powerful Doctor Strange across the Multiverse. As he is the Doctor Stephen Strange Junior and is the real son of our Doctor Strange but from Earth- 1610. He has more powers than his father because he had got all his powers from his father as inheritance and he had also practiced a lot after that.

Ultimate Doctor Strange
Marvel Comics

But we can see he is the first example of nepotism in the Superhero universe.

Three Variants in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness
