Chris Pratt to Voice Garfield in New Animated Movie

Chris Pratt Updates: Garfield, the Monday-hating comic strip animated movie is going to get voiced by Chris Pratt. Behind the new Garfield release, we have Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove’s Alcon Entertainment which has been picked up for the worldwide release, by sony pictures.

It is directed by Mark Dindal and the script is written by David Reynolds who has also been nominated for an Oscar. They have also worked together previously on Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove.

The comic series first arrived in the comics sections in the year 1978, written by Jim Davis, where we find a lazy Orange tabby cat often causes problems for the lovable pet dog, named Odie, and also for his owner Jon Arbuckle.

Garfield is recorded as one of the best comic strips in the whole world, and debuted in 41 newspapers…

Davis along with Bridget McMeel from Craig Sost and Amuse will be an executive producer and Alcon upholds the rights from him.

Besides Johnson and Kosove, Steven P. Wegner and John Cohen did the production. The animation and production of the film will be done by DNEG Animation, which also worked in another animated film Ron’s Gone Wrong. Tom Jacomb and Namit Malhotra who are president and DNEG CEO respectively are into the production.

The comic series first appeared on the big screen in animated hybrid/live-action Garfield in the year 2004 along with its sequel Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties from 2006.

Both the movies were produced by 20th Century Fox and the titular cat is voiced by Bill Murray,

Pratt also voiced Pixar’s Onward, Lego Movie films, and also Super Mario Bros. Which is also an animated feature from Universal and Nintendo, where he will also be voicing Mario.

Reynolds has started his career by writing for Late Night With Conan O’Brien, which is repped by Gersh.
