Captain Marvel 2: Will be Facing some Tough Villains

Captain Marvel 2 Updates: A sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel, the upcoming film will see Brie Larson reprise her role as Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel. In a new interview with ‘The Marvels’ director, Nia DaCosta, she revealed that the movie would tackle some tough subjects. Some known MCU faces like Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Randall Para as Jimmy Woo will also be seen in The Marvels, besides new faces like Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel.
At an age of 31, the director is making MCU history as the first—and youngest Black woman to direct a Marvel film. Another major project of hers, Candyman, is based on the long-running urban legend which will finally hit the theatre on August 27th after a year’s delay. She directed and co-wrote the film alongside esteemed horror director Jordan Peele’s ‘Get Out’.
In an interview with Variety, DaCosta revealed that similarly to Candyman, The Marvels will tackle tough, but important topics indifferent to what  Marvel movies are typically known for, DaCosta wants to pick up some serious conversations that are at the center of all her films. DaCosta’s said:
“I can say it’s a very different beast. But I am obsessed with how we all deal with our pain and trauma, and there’s some of that in the story.”

DaCosta started filming for ‘The Marvels’ earlier this month and is speculated to release in 2022 as part of Phase 4 of the MCU. The increasing threat of the COVID-19 Delta variant might postpone their theatrical debuts.
Before this, the issue pushed back the release date for Venom: Let There Be Carnage from September 24th to October 15th. But as movie maniacs are well acquainted with the situation of the pandemic that can once again shut down theatres.
It will be interesting to see what exactly DaCosta actually meant by her statement when she says the film will tackle tough subjects, but the complex Carol Danvers seems like the perfect character to explore feelings of pain, loss, and trauma.
The excitement surrounding the MCU Phase 4 is increasing with new releases, and with DaCosta as director, ‘The Marvels’ is bound to be a hit for Marvel Studios. The audience’s excitement knows no bounds. Now, it’s a matter of time only.
