Captain America 4: Sebastian Stan Responds To Anthony Mackie Casting News

Captain America 4 Updates: Sebastian Stan responds to Anthony Mackie reportedly signing a deal to portray Captain America 4 on the big screen. In Captain America: The Debut Avenger, Stan made his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as James “Bucky” Barnes. Bucky joined Steve Rogers’ Howling Commandos before committing suicide as Captain America, hundreds of feet from a train.
As Hydra’s brainwashed Winter Soldier in 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Bucky was seen to be alive but not well. Anthony Mackie makes his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Sam Wilson, nicknamed the Falcon, a close friend of Steve’s who uncovers a government conspiracy involving SHIELD, Hydra, and the Winter Soldier in the same film.
Sam and the partially-reformed Bucky served as supporting characters until Phase 4’s second Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
The series centered on Sam taking the mantle of Captain America, Bucky truly resolving his history as the Winter Soldier, and the two working together to combat the Flag-Smashers and a counterfeit “Cap” following the transfer of Steve Rogers’ shield to Sam in Avengers: Endgame.

Soon after the conclusion of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, speculations started circulating that Captain America 4 was in the works, and now it’s been confirmed that Mackie has signed on to portray the main role.
Stan recently expressed his delight at the casting of one of his friends and coworkers in Captain America 4. The performers captioned a screenshot of Deadline’s report with the words “HELL.” YES.” on his Instagram account.
Stan’s role as Bucky may or may not be reprised in the fourth Captain America film, which has yet to be named. He’ll very probably play a supporting role, considering the popularity of the Sam/Bucky connection in their Disney+ series.
The showrunners of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, are allegedly working on a narrative for Captain America 4. The plot of the picture is being kept under wraps, as is Marvel Studios’ norm, but it’s clear that the company intends to continue plotlines started in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and integrate them into the larger MCU.
