The Boys Season 3 Mocks Corporate Pride Month Marketing With Brave Maeve Vought Ad

The Boys Season 3 Updates: Vought, The Boys’ in-universe corporation, seeks to capitalize on Pride Month by publishing a false advertisement for “Brave Maeve Vegetarian Pride Lasagna.”
The Boys makes fun of businesses for attempting to capitalize on Pride Month by posting an “ad” for Brave Maeve Lasagna. Amazon’s The Boys has established a reputation for expertly satirizing current culture in its first two seasons.
The series imagines a future in which superheroes are corporate-backed celebrities who have gone corrupt in many situations. The Boys has attacked everything from superhero culture to racial racism, and with season 3 on the coming, it shows no signs of letting down. In fact, creator Eric Kripke has stated that he intends to make a total of five seasons.
The Boys has also found methods to mock LGBTQIA representation in superhero movies and the culture in general through Seven-member Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott). The bisexual hero reunited with her girlfriend Elena (Nicola Correia-Damude) shortly before Homelander (Antony Starr) outed her to the world in Season 2.
Vought soon sought to capitalize on Maeve’s sexuality by promoting a line of “Brave Maeve” products and inserting false LGBTQIA representation in its film Dawn of the Seven. Now that it’s Pride Month, The Boys is taking shots at the real world once more.

The Boys Season 3: Vought Ad

Bleeding Cool
Every June, companies go all out to express their support for the LGBTQIA community, with anything from “Pride” products to rainbow-colored logos. Of course, as many have pointed out, these attempts to reach out to the LGBTQIA community come to a stop in June.
The Boys chose to mock this by having Vought International distribute an advertisement for “Brave Maeve Vegetarian Pride Lasagna,” the type of fake product that corporations love to put out. Take note of the additional mention of “Homelander Farms milk.”
The Boys have been up to date on current events even throughout the course of their sabbatical. The memorial weekend paid honor to Vought’s first patriotic hero, the 3 newcomer Soldier Boy(Jensen Ackles). In the coming season, the Boys will clearly not shy away from their social commentary on American history and politics. There’s not much stuff that you can claim that you can’t work with.
Although at the end of season 2 Queen Maeve has the upper hand with Homelander, the psychopathic hero is certainly back and scarier than ever. Maeve is going to have some reason to worry.
As far as her love life is concerned, things didn’t finish well with Elena, but McElligott remarked that she hopes that both would meet again in the future. Even if not, Vought will probably continue to utilize her sexuality, so it’s… okay?
