MCU Theory: Loki Episode 3 Was All A Trick (Every Clue)

Loki Episode 3 Updates: There is evidence that makes us think Loki episode 3 is just a mere illusion cast by our Loki on Sylvie(aka Lady Loki) to know more about her and her plans. God of Mischief, Loki is a trickster and the major problem with tricks is that it sometimes goes wrong.

Not a great plan!

When Sylvie and Loki were fighting in TVA, they were confronted by the TVA authorities. Loki used the Tempad of Sylvie to escape from TVA. They both ended up in Laminitis-1, Which is facing its extinction. Sylvie used Tempad to surf around the timeline from one apocalyptic event to another while creating havoc to the timeline.

Among the apocalyptic events saved in that Tempad Laminitis-1 is the worst.  After their teleportation to Lamentis-1, the Tempad lost its charge and both were stranded in a world that is about to end. Which is according to Tony Stark, “Not a Great plan!”

But there is another version of this episode that suggests that the whole episode is a trick cast by Loki on Sylvie. Few details in this episode support this theory. Unlike our Loki, lady Loki (Sylvie) is a self-taught sorceress.

Her power works differently when compared to our traditional Loki. Sylvie can possess the mind of weaker beings thus giving her control over their bodies. She can also extract the information from the mind of other lesser beings.

But the latter requires physical contact. When it comes to strong beings, she has to build an elaborate scenario to gain the trust of the victim to trick them.

Loki Episode 3: Laminitis, an Illusion:

This is where the theory that Laminitis is just a big illusion comes into play. Even when Loki pretends that this kind of illusion is new to him, we can see in the end credits of THOR, where it is revealed that Loki has established a connection with the mind of the Astrophysicist Erik Selvig.

Although Loki Used mind stone to control the mind of other people in the Avengers movie, Selvig’s experience was intrusive and later Selvig commented on the illusion as he has had a God in his brain and he doesn’t recommend it.

This leads us to believe that this isn’t the illusion created by Lady Loki. But our traditional Loki itself is capable of casting such an illusion.

Only physical contact could have lead to this illusion. The question is when did this illusion begin? While in TVA, when Sylvie persuades Loki to join in her work, he managed to restrain her for a couple of seconds. It is possible that Loki could have cast the illusion during this confrontation.

Laminitis as a whole felt like a simulation. It is designed to trick Sylvie by our Loki to know her plans and also about her. The details in the Laminitis are populated by Sylvie herself as she has remembered it.

The quests on Laminitis for both Lokis changes frequently as the situation in that world intensifies. The teleportation of both Lokis from TVA to Laminitis has drained the charge of Tempad.  They initially plan to reach the Ark to recharge the Tempad using its power.

However, when Tempad was broke when Loki was tossed out of the train, they plan to get on the Ark to safely bail out the world.  Throughout the Episode, Loki never took the Quest seriously as Sylvie did.

He even had a hedonistic party on the train and dropped his illusion taking unnecessary risks. The conversations between Sylvie and Loki were also carefully engineered.

Loki Episode 3: Will the illusion lift?

As the episode reaches its climax, the events on the planet Lamentis Intensifies. The star broke into two pieces, sending meteor showers all over the planet. Among the commotion that was prevailing on the planet, both Lokis were trying to get on Ark.

At one point when a nearby building collapsed and is about to crash on Loki and Sylvie, Loki intervened and used his telekinesis power to protect them both from the building. The problem with this scene was Loki never exhibited this power before in MCU.

There could be only 2 possibilities: Either Loki kept this power hidden this whole time or this whole thing is just an illusion. He stepped in only because the situation went out of control. As the series is only Halfway through, there is more to Loki’s story.

Loki episode 3 is carefully designed for Loki to get into Sylvie’s head. If this is the case,  where is real Loki and Sylvie, and what happened to them in the actual timeline? This illusion can be lifted only by the upcoming episodes in the series of LOKI.
