Mass Effect Guide Updates: Mass Effect’s Virmire mission is the midpoint of the whole story and arguably one of the best missions in the first game. Before reading the whole thing, we recommend you to reach this point in the game, unless you really want some spoilers.
After finishing up two of the three plot missions, the shepard will receive a transmission from the Council about Saren. A message would be passed from a salarian infiltration team on the planet Virmire. Now Shepard can choose to go immediately and fight Geth and a few krogan.
Disable The AA Tower and Head To The Salarian Camp
Normandy would be prevented from reaching the salarian infiltration by the defense towers surrounding the base. Shepard’s team is dropped off and they must disable the towers. The path is straight forward but there would be Geth to stop you. You’ll have to make your way wisely. Also make sure to keep an eye for items on checkpoints. And also do not worry about any junctions on the way, as they all do end up leading in the same direction.
Wrex And The Genophage
Now the Shepherd must confront Wrex, which can go a few ways. You can also potentially earn some Paragon or Renegade points. Now moving further, if you are concerned about Wrex firing his shotgun, you should ask Ashley to stand ready.
If you don’t care much about Wrex , Shepard can force his hand with negative responses and Intimidate options. You can signal Ashley to shoot him or have Shepard shoot him, and it would earn a big +25 Renegade.
Mass Effect Guide: Infiltrate Saren’s Base
PolygonNow you must explore the camp for items and codex entries before speaking to Kirrahe. After the explanation of the plan about how to blow up the facility is done, Shepard would be informed that Kirrahe needs one of their squad members for the assault. And be aware that the person you choose won’t be with you for the rest of the mission.
Confronting Saren and Then Escape
At the end, you need to clear out all the geth you encounter, and Saren would appear. You now need to tell him that he has already fallen and ask him to help you out for a +2 Paragon. As the conversation ends, he will attack from his platform. After taking enough damage, Saren will escape.
