Queen Sugar Season 6 Updates: As is characteristic of the spotlight family drama, Queen Sugar does not shy away from depicting and discussing complex subjects affecting American life, mostly for Black people studying and learning in Southern communities. Season 5 of the show was no exception, depicting the consequences of the coronavirus disease outbreak on St. Josephine, Louisiana, as well as the ongoing social outcry against police violence against Black Americans.

Townsend will play Billie, Prosper Denton’s daughter, who is forced to return to St. Josephine due to illness. It will be the first time fans see the character, which has previously been reduced to passing conversation and the occasional phone call.
Season 6 Plot: What can we expect from it?
By the end of Season 5, the Bordelon family has reached a critical juncture. Ralph Angel and Darla determine that Blue should attend the school in Washington DC if he is to have a fair chance at his dreams. Davis and Charley seem to be reconnecting and in a happy position, but Charley wonders if her ex-husband has really changed.
Nova is disappointed to hear about Calvin’s involvement in Andre Nixon’s situation, as he was the one who delivered the knockout blow that resulted in Nixon’s life-altering injury. Season 6 will reveal more about where Davis and Charley stand in their relationship. Calvin and Nova’s relationship seems to have hit a snag, and it looks that they will never recover.
We know that Darla and Ralph Angel’s decision to send Blue to school in DC was not easy; hence, the upcoming season will shed light on the impact of sending Blue to school in DC. With the addition of Billie, Celine, Isaiah, and Dominic to the mix, the dynamics are bound to change.
