It’s been recently reported that the production of season 7 might begin anytime soon now. While the premier for season 5 hasn’t been started yet. The writing for season 7 has already begun. The work in the franchise is running at full speed and not only is the production on another season underway, but also we learned that the co-creator of the series will be bringing a new animated comedy to Fox set in ancient Greece.
It was only in the past week that it was unveiled that writing for season 7 has begun when Rick and Morty writer Alex Rubens took to Twitter to share big news; “Am I allowed to say that we started writing Rick and Morty Season 7? (If not we didn’t and I’m not) “. This gave the fans and reporters, the hint that the writing process has begun and we’ll soon see it under production. This has made the fans even more anxious as many of them believe that the franchise will release seasons 5, 6, and 7 simultaneously, all within a year. Also, previously Harmon also confirmed the news during a Rick and Morty panel at the Adult Swim Festival back in November 2020. Harmon commented “I think we’re working on Season 7 right now, I can’t even keep track. I wouldn’t know if I were spoiling season 5 or season 6″
Rubens’ confirmation not only made the fans more excited and anxious about the premiere of season 5 but also made them take more interest in the release dates of Seasons 6 and 7. Moreover, if they’re writing season 7 then it implies that they’ve finished writing season 6 and it’s already under production. The season 5 still not being in the premier has made almost everyone agree with the rumor that they might end up releasing all three seasons simultaneously within a year.

Even if we don’t have any idea what the makers are up to for season 5 of the show, but recently the comments of the writer and producer of Rick and Morty, Scott Marder gave us some hints as to what might be seen in the new season; “There’s epic canon in season 5 coming. Fans are gonna like get knocked over by the canon we’re about to hit them with. All the stuff we’re doing is so awesome.”
Although Marder’s tease doesn’t give us a solid idea of what may be coming in season 5. But we can still assume about what might happen on the basis of the comment passed down by Scott.
