CBS renewed Young Sheldon the sitcom for two more seasons on March 30, 2021, for 2023-24. It made talking about George SR.’s infidelity mandatory. In the turn of events, Young Sheldon made Sheldon’s sad story in the sitcom ‘Big Bang Theory’ much more detrimental. There had been a lot of woes in both their stories. The setting of the tragic plot must start by now. Considering, how different the state of cooper’s marriage had been presented in the prequel compared to how Sheldon recalled it in Big Bang Theory. Sheldon’s family already had been established in the season 1 franchise before the big spin-off. What makes the spinoff a little doubtful is the relativity of the disparity shown in both the sitcom. In Young Sheldon, his parents used to argue, fight but they eventually used to resolve them. Thus, Sheldon catching his father with another woman than her mother makes the plot very complex.

Season 4 and episode 15 of the prequel “A Virus, Heartbreak, and a world of possibilities” led to a turn in the equation of George and Mary, it became sadder. Mary and Meemaw took Brenda to a bar, to make her feel good as she was going through a rough patch in her marriage. Brenda started talking about her marriage and mary could relate to her in many ways which made her realize that her marriage was going towards a rough path as well. In Young Sheldon, S4 George mentioned being unhappy once but the idea was never revisited thereafter which indicated their marriage. Brenda’s story made her realize that big arguments don’t always need to destroy a marriage. Her marriage was as bad as Brenda’s. In Big Bang Theory, these theories weren’t enough to redeem their marriage. This makes it important for the plot to be made now.
