Rick & Morty follows Rick Sanchez, a tortured, amoral super-genius physicist, and Morty, his well-meaning, dim-witted grandson, as they parody anything from Game of Thrones to Jurassic Park to Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel Prometheus over the course of four seasons.
No topic is too holy for the show, because no matter what it spoofs, Rick & Morty repeatedly gives the topic of each episode’s parody a nonsensical twist and subverts audience expectations. The show’s huge following is looking forward to the forthcoming fifth season of Rick & Morty because of its erratic fiction.
Rick & Morty’s first complete trailer for season 5 (due out in late June) was revealed last week, and it’s chock-full of clues about the next season’s weird incidents.
The trailer, which resembles a motion comic preview that surfaced online shortly after Rick & Morty’s fourth season concluded last year, reveals that the upcoming season will include spoofs of everything from the classic horror film Hellraiser to the classic anime hit Voltron.
There’s no better opportunity than now to analyze all that can be gained from the short, action-packed two-minute preview, which features screen time for Beth, Jerry, and Morty’s sister Summer and also the titular pair.
Mr. Nimbus, Rick’s Nemesis

Mr. Nimbus’s goofy personality and aloof attitude seem to contribute more to comic book’s original Golden Age characters than to their more contemporary, self-aware reinventions as in the MCU and DCEU.
