The Umbrella Academy Season 3 Updates: Why isn’t Lila Pitts, one of the most powerful characters in The Umbrella Academy, among the season 2 Sparrows?
The Umbrella Academy by Gerard Way starts with 43 super-powered children who were mysteriously born in 1989. Sir Reginald Hargreeves (who was most likely interested in their conceptualization) travels the globe in search of these newborns to join his superhero squad and brings back seven of them.
The Hargreeves siblings return in 2019 to see a totally new squad (with the exception of Ben) in their place, renamed the “Sparrow Academy,” after spending much of The Umbrella Academy season 2 experimenting in the past.
Lila Pitts does not appear in any of Reginald Hargreeves’ super-schools. Lila is a character from season 2 of The Umbrella Academy who continues to work for The Commission, even though not entirely of her own accord.
Lila’s abilities are one-of-a-kind; she’s an empath that can copy superpowers from another of the 43 kids when they’re close by. Lila would have been indispensable as a part of Sir Reginald’s squad and the more siblings she has around her, the more abilities she can obtain.
The Umbrella Academy Season: All About Lila
What’s on NetflixSir Reginald Hargreeves’ conditions for forming superhero groups have not been explicitly established by the Umbrella Academy. Just seven mothers were ready to part with their newborn infants, according to the first episode.
The presence of the Sparrow Academy, on the other hand, shows that Reginald purposefully ignored the siblings he encountered in 1962. Reginald couldn’t get any kids and didn’t want others, so both things actually played a role.
The former is quite likely to blame for Lila’s exclusion. When Lila’s past before The Handler is flashed back in The Umbrella Academy season 2, she seems to come from a caring home.
Since Lila comes from a nurturing family, it’s easy to see why she wasn’t chosen for the initial Umbrella Academy, and why she wasn’t chosen when Reginald rotated his team for the Sparrow Academy.
Reginald may have liked to have an advocate on his team, but still, he couldn’t be bothered to take one of the 43 infants without any of the mother’s consent.
Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy should expose the facts. When the Hargreeves siblings appear, audiences will undoubtedly hear something about Reginald (now that he’s living once more), as well as the origins of the Sparrow Academy and the 43 girls.
Reginald could explain why he picked the Sparrows over the Umbrellas and, as a result, why Lila was shut behind. Lila should also have a big part in season 3 of The Umbrella Academy, and now that she’s clear of The Handler, her outward manifestations will be exposed.
