Which stars make a big part in #blackAF in season 1, if any? It showed that Kenya Barris Netflix humor series is been carrying with big stars from television and movies, whether it’s writers and directors or actors and actresses.

Netflix launched #blackAF season 1, which includes eight episodes, in April 2020. Barris named himself opposite Rashida Jones as his wife Joya in #blackAF season 1.

Describing the rich folks of six mixed-race children, the couple tries to pinpoint what it means to be black in the USA and how the past will affect the present.

Kenya gives an offer as lengthy monologues about class and races while showing off the cheer-up being the man who made the hit show Black-ish and co-created America’s Next Top Model. Most of the celebrities show up to comedically punctuate the family drama of Barris.

#blackAF first season starts with the cameos of some well-known executives, and then it continues and then elevates the power of the star from there. Especially, the fifth episode is a pack of the biggest punch but is a lot between. The following is all about the cameos in season one of #blackAF on Netflix.

Steven Levitan as Himself:

The maker of Modern Family makes fun of Kenya with references to the franchise of Fast & Furious in Episode 1. Scooter Braun as Himself: The record executive just appears at the restaurant scene in episode 1.

Jay Rock as Himself:

A famous recording artist (and the musician of the theme song “WIN” ), Jay Rock makes his cameo by appearing live on stage at Lunar Festival which was in Episode 2.

Knowledge Bennett as Himself:

A well-known L.A.-based visual artist appears to represent his painting at the Barris home in Episode 3. Angela Kinsey appeared as Leeza: She is well known best for portraying Angela Martin in The Office, Angela Kinsey portrays one of Kenya’s writers from episodes 4 to 6.

Jonathan Groff appeared as Jerome Sinfield:

An executive producer of Black-ish, he represents a TV writer from episodes 4 t0 6. Melvin Gregg appeared as Cousin Harold: Marcus Parrish from The Way Back comes to share his life story with Kenya in Episode 5.

Mike Epps appeared as Uncle Ray:

A well-known comedian, Mike Epps makes his cameo appearing at a family gathering and talks in movies in episode 5.

Nelson Franklin appeared as Nelson:

A Black-ish cast member, Nelson Franklin portrays one of Kenya’s writers from episodes 4 to 6. Kym Whitley appeared as Aunt Nadine: The famous character actress made her cameo by appearing at a Barris family cookout in episode 5.

Phil Morris appeared as Grandpa Barris:

Another great  Character artist, Phil Morris made his cameo by appearing at the cookout and speaks kindly of Juwanna Mann in Episode 5.

KJ Smith appeared as Tischina:

The actress of Lethal Weapon and Sistas appeared at the cookout in episode 5. Valarie Pettiford appeared as Grandma: Known by appearing in The series Blacklist, Valarie Pettiford appears during a family party of Barris in episode 5.

Tyler Perry appeared as Himself:

The famous entertainment mogul makes his cameo and gives advice to Kenya in episode 5. Issa Rae appeared as Herself: The star of the series Insecure is part of Kenya’s “Black Illuminati” video call in the fifth episode.

Ava Duvernay appeared as Herself:

The filmmaker of “When They See Us” makes her cameo being a part of Kenya’s videocall in the fifth episode.

Will Packer appeared as Himself:

A successful producer of Girls Trip, he also made his cameo by appearing during the video call in the fifth episode.

Lena Waithe appeared as Herself:

The maker of Chi made her cameo by participating in the video call in episode 5. Tim’s Story appeared as Himself: The director of Fantastic Four made his cameo by appearing during the video call in episode 5.

Yassir Lester appeared as the Director:

A stand-up comedian, Yassir Lester represents the director of a film that Kenya despises in episode 5. Bresha Webb appeared as Jasmine: known as playing a role in A Fall from Grace, he has appeared as a supportive friend of Joya in episode 6.

Brittany Daniel appeared as Dr. Peterson:

A Black-ish alum, he made his cameo by appearing as a doctor in the sixth episode. Nia Long appeared as Lavette: The former star of NCIS: Los Angeles represents Joya’s publicist from episodes 6 to 8.
