The American Gods Season 3 Episode 2 Spoilers

The American Gods Season 3 Updates: Throughout the last two seasons of the American Gods, Mr. Wednesday, or Odin, has been preparing a war against the New Gods, hiring gods from all over the world to help him fight.

In season 3 sees the God of Norse undertaking his quest, appealing to an old friend for help. At the dentist’s office, Dr. Tyrrell bargains with a boy, telling him he’s going to pay him to double as much as the tooth fairy’s will for his tooth.

Right from the back, it is clear that this guy is definitely not human because of his unusual interest in teeth; but, all questions are tossed out of the window as soon as the viewer sees his office, which is full of Norse objects, such as battle-axes, helmets, swords, knives and wolf totems.

With Wednesday right behind, the two nostalgic of their experience together, when they fought side by side during the Battle of Yorktown. It was then discovered that the dentist was really Tyr the Warlord. He is another war god from the North Pantheon, concerned primarily with the preservation of justice.

In some stories, he’s on a stage similar to Thor, and like Wednesday, he’s immortalized in the universe of today, Tuesday is related to his name.

The American Gods Season 3

One of his most popular stories, recounted in Neil Gaiman’s Norse Mythology, is how he lost his hand to the wolf Fenrir in the name of the other gods. This appears to be remembered in the American Gods, with the prosthetic hand of Tyr as well as the wolf totems.

As a deity, his unusual interest in teeth makes some sense, particularly because he collects them in a jar. Gods, like Wednesday, have consistently proven that offerings and sacrifices make them more powerful and important.

By this it seems that Tyr is still loyal to the Old Gods, particularly the All-father, contributing a generous sum of money to the war, promising something for the cause, even though—as far as the audience is aware—the two of them did not discuss the specifics of Wednesday’s fight. He then swears to fight Odin’s hand, even though it leads to their deaths.
