WandaVision Updates: Here’s how the Mind Stone could be back after the events of Avengers: Infinity Warin WandaVision.
Following the current covid 19 pandemics that have thrown a wrench at Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 schedule, the Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany-led show is now slated to kick off MCU’s exclusive series instead of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
Tipped to roll out this December, the project’s first trailer has officially been released giving fans a peek at the trippy small screen offering.
Released during the 2020 Emmys, the WandaVision trailer clocks in at a minute and 20 seconds that features the return of the star-crossed lovers as they live a seemingly great life as a married couple living in the suburbs.
Later on in the video, there’s also the reveal of Wanda and Vision’s supposed twin sons, implying a progression in their family life. As previously revealed, the WandaVision mines inspiration from a string of classic sitcoms which is apparent in the promo clip’s aesthetic with visual references to I Love Lucy and Full House, among others.
The clip also debuts Kathryn Hahn’s still-unnamed character who’s only described as a “nosy neighbor,” not to mention a tease of adult Monica Rambeau (Teyona Parris) and SWORD’s operation on Earth after Spider-Man: Far From Home confirmed its existence.
There’s a lot to discuss from the new WandaVision trailer. However, the show’s biggest question remains to be how Vision is alive following the Infinity War. In conjunction with that, it’s also unclear how he still has the Mind Stone, which appears to still be functioning in terms of being the Android’s source of power.
The lovers were able to fend off the villain thanks to the timely back-up from Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Falcon (Anthony Mackie).
However, that wasn’t the end of their problem; they knew that it was only a matter of time before Thanos got to him, so they tried extracting the Infinity Stone safely with the help of Shuri (Letitia Wright). Unfortunately, time ran out and the Mad Titan ultimately got his hands on the Mind Gem, leaving Vision dead.
So, is there any possibility for both Vision and the Mind Stone to properly return into the franchise given their current predicament? As previously mentioned, Vision can be reconstructed considering his robotic make-up.
WandaVision: How Vision has Mind Stone?
Assuming that his body is still in Wakanda after Avengers: Infinity War, Shuri can provide help in essentially rebooting him and providing a different power source than the Mind Stone.
That said, it’s also not outside the realm of possibility that the Android can re-acquire the Infinity Stone as WandaVision will be narratively connected to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
As Benedict Cumberbatch and Sam Raimi’s movie title suggest, the sequel will see the titular sorcerer exploring the multiverse, meaning that he can ultimately get the Mind Stone from a different reality, deliver it to prime MCU and give it to Vision.
This could ultimately comfort Wanda as her grief more likely motivated her to play with reality in the first place.
