As you know, the documentary series aims to delve deep into the depths of extremist polygamist groups and shows how the power held by one Prophet Warren Jeffs (who is currently serving a life sentence for all his crimes committed) and other such high-profile polygamists like Sam Bateman who had the horrendous tendency to shape communities in such a way that claims of abuse, incest, and fraud became ‘just a thing’ after becoming increasingly common.
Investigator and retired member of law enforcement, Matt Browning is shown getting candid with former members who managed to escape from the atrocities as he listens to shocking allegations of both mental and physical abuse suffered by polygamist women and children.
The series features interviews with experts who hold access to insiders including the Prophet’s daughter, Rachel Jeffs Blackmore who gives a first-hand account of her life with her father.
Additionally, some never-before-seen photos from Warren and Alyshia’s wedding help throw light on such polygamist groups and their teachings to offer a definitive look at polygamy in America.
