Who Will Appear in the Documentary Series?

Netflix
We’ll have to wait and watch which team members get the most screen time throughout the documentary.
However, Netflix stated that the show would follow Megan Rapinoe, who retired from the USWNT this year, and experienced forward Alex Morgan.
The series will include veteran champions such as Lindsey Horan, as well as 18-year-old emerging sensation Alyssa Thompson, who was called up to the squad from Angel City F.C. just before her senior prom, and first-time U.S. Women’s World Cup Team members Savannah DeMelo, Lynn Williams, and Kristie Mewis.
The docuseries is produced by Marie Margolius and directed by two-time Emmy winner and TIME Studios Head of Sports & Executive Producer Rebecca Gitlitz.

What will Under Pressure: The U.S. Women’s World Cup Team be about?

Netflix
The 9th FIFA Women’s World Cup was held this past summer in Australia and New Zealand, and Netflix has documented the short-lived adventure of the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team and their bid to win a 5th World Cup with a fresh new docuseries that will premiere in December 2023.
According to Netflix, the series will look closely at “the most celebrated soccer team in history.” If the United States Women’s National Team wins, it will be their third World Cup triumph.
“Issues which include racial diversity, LGBTQ+ rights, equal pay, friends, and motherhood are all highlighted as the story unfolds,” Netflix stated in a news release.
In addition to their own and the team’s preparation for the 2023 FIFA World Cup, the documentary series will show how this team stands on the shoulders of those who came before them, as well as how they keep up the torch on the legacy of breaking glass ceilings in sports as well as fighting for pay equity and equality in women’s sports in the future.
The USWNT only played four games, failing to win three of them, ultimately losing to Sweden in a penalty shootout in Round 16. Due to their poor achievements, the squad faced harsh criticism from sports commentators at home and abroad.
