Lupin Part 3 of the hit French heist thriller promises a perfect blend of comedy and action. We can’t wait!
‘Lupin’ was created by George Kay and Francois Uzan and directed by Louis Leterrier and a few others.
The show has been a global hit for the streamers since part 1 which was believed to have been watched by over 70 million households within its first 28 days of streaming!
The story of ‘Lupin’ goes like this – a professional thief named Assane Diop became an orphan when his father was framed for the theft of an expensive diamond necklace by his powerful boss, Hubert Pellegrini, thereby causing the former to hang himself in prison.
Twenty-five years later, armed with the mastery and skillfulness of thievery and knowledge, Assane is all set out to get revenge on the Pellegrini family by exposing Hubert’s atrocious crimes.
The thirst for an act of revenge is a tale as old as time and although things don’t always go according to the revenge seeker, leading to some comic relief – it certainly does make for some entertainment.
This is one of the reasons for Lupin’s well-received response which breaks records by the way.
For the record, Part 2 was released just a few months later on June 11th and Netflix reported that Lupin was considered the most-watched non-English show on the platform at the time – ranking just after Bridgerton.
What Is Lupin Part 3 About?
The official synopsis of Lupin Part 3 reads that Assane is currently in hiding from his wife and son. His family has witnessed a lot of suffering thanks to him and he can’t stand it anymore so he decides to return to Paris and propose a crazy idea – leave France and start fresh elsewhere.
However, the ghosts of your past rarely leave and are in fact always lurking in the shadows. When an unexpected return of a ‘ghost’, all of Assane’s plans go haywire.
The trailer shows a blend of comedy and action and we love both – and want Part 3 ASAP!

Who Stars In Lupin 3?
Omar Sy reprises his role as Assane in part 3, a role inspired by the world-famous gentleman-cum-thief, Arsene Lupin– that’s for sure. The cast is also bringing back Ludivine Sagnier, Clotilde Hesme, and others.
Lupin Part 3 is all set to be released on Netflix on 5th October 2023!
