The Gold
The Hollywood Reporter Roma

The Gold is based on the infamous Brink’s-Mat heist involving 6 armed robbers who set out to carry out what meant to be a ‘typical Old Kent Road armed robbery’.

However, when they broke into the security depot near London’s Heathrow airport, these guys found gold bullion worth 26 million fortunately for the lax security guard who was later part of the crime, these robbers pulled the heist successfully which became a seminal event in British criminal history and its legacy spread far and wide.

The ultimate result? The birth of large-scale money laundering cases, illegal gains from London Dockland’s property boom, etc.

In terms of the cast- what we know so far is that Hugh Bonneville plays the top Met detective, Brian Boyce, Jack Lowden plays Kenneth Noye who is a criminal in the robbery; Dominic Cooper as Edwyn Cooper who is a rather shady businessman – we’re not giving out all the spoilers about the cast – you will just have to watch it for yourself!
