What Is the Series All About?

Set in 1633 Japan, “Blue Eye Samurai” dives into the daily life of Mizu, an outsider with striking blue eyes.

Mizu sets off on a vengeful mission, which crosses paths with Akemi, a young noblewoman.

The notion is set inside a larger-than-life action-adventure story that embraces contemporary topics while emitting a deep inner drive.

Although the artwork reveals little about who the Blue Eye Samurai is or what the series is about, it sparks interest in the classic samurai narrative. On April 21, 2023, a first-look photo for the series was revealed.

The samurai, facing out a door with her weapon at her side, is confronted with a world that appears chilly, with just the blueish brightness of the moonlight and an orange, warmer light source behind her.

The artwork conjures the finest samurai flicks, giving the impression of a lone sword master versus the world, her weapon brilliantly gleaming in the moonlight.

The creators & supervising filmmakers used the occasion to express their ideas for an enthralling story set in Edo-period Japan, centered on a mixed-race sword master managing a life in hiding while seeking vengeance.
