Yes, at the end of ‘Mask Girl,’ Mo-mi is no longer alive. After leaving the prison, she promises to help a fellow inmate’s daughter by donating one of her kidneys. But she escapes her guards and goes to a cabin where Mi-mo is being held underground by Kyung-ja.

Mo-mi’s mother and a friend named Ye-chun notice something is wrong with Mi-mo and search for her.

At the cabin, Mo-mi and her mother talk kindly for the first time in years and share what they know. Mo-mi’s mother calls the police, who arrive first but leave when news of Mo-mi’s escape spreads.

Mo-mi’s mother and Ye-chun arrive later. While the two grandmothers struggle, Ye-chun finds Mi-mo but can’t free her.

Then, Mo-mi comes and saves her mother from Kyung-ja, reuniting with Mi-mo. But Kyung-ja wakes up, fatally hurts Mo-mi’s mother, and fights with Mo-mi.

The police return, Kyung-ja aims her gun at Mi-mo, but Mo-mi steps in the way of the bullet. Mo-mi dies in Mi-mo’s arms, and the police kill Kyung-ja. Afterward, Mi-mo goes to live with Ye-chun’s parents, finding peace after a long time.
